+++ Weighing of Trucks and Big Vans   +++

URGENT -  URGENT – URGENT

W e s t – A f r i c a – N e w s   16/17

Dear valued Customer,

we are informed by Grimaldi Line with new surcharges as below mention.

QUOTE
+++

Dear Sir and Madam

Already today, all loaded trucks are weighed at Unikai Terminal. The weight is then submitted to the line’s planning department to issue respective stowage plans for our vessels. Unfortunately figures for empty /unloaded vehicles and big vans very often do not match reality which makes reliable planning impossible. Often stowage plans later have to be modified in order to guarantee safe loading operation.
With effect from delivery date 1 December 2017 and beyond, Grimaldi Lines will therefore start weighing all vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, construction machinery, agricultural machinery as well as vehicles belonging to category Big Van at the shipper’s expense. This applies to both loaded and empty vehicles. Exemptions are only new vehicles which definitely hold no load.

This instruction also applies to the loading port Antwerp.

Following weighing surcharges are applicable in future ex loading ports Hamburg and Antwerp:
20.00 € for second-hand trucks / trailers / construction machinery / agricultural machinery etc.
20.00 € for big vans and vehicles belonging into this category

Please take these surcharges into consideration for your future freight calculation.
Many thanks for your and your customers’ understanding that correct weight figures are absolutely important for reliable and safe
stowage planning which is in our mutual interest.

Many thanks for your kind attention.
Yours sincerely
Grimaldi Germany GmbH
